That definitely helps as well and is important to do.

Cheers!

Actually just reduce unused plugins, this way is one of the best.

Hi Julian,

Thanks, sounds like a good idea to me :)

I’ve already forwarded it those in charge so we’ll definitely think about that :)

Cheers,,
Adam

Thanks Adam,

I wouldn’t clog up the blog with it, I think an email would be great and perhaps also a report directly in the security tab on the Hub?

Hi @Julian

That’s certainly worth considering :)

I’m wondering what form would be better, though. A post on blog or rather an e-mail or, maybe, some sort of a notification/message in The Hub?

What do you think?

I’ve also passed your suggestion over to our writers already.

Best regards,
Adam

That’s one thing I love about Wordfence, they’re on top of this stuff and they report on their findings and update their WAF pro-actively. As you say, with DEV we simply don’t know if/what/when/how. Well we have a WAF log in our hosting Hub but you have to go looking for it and even that may not provide all the details you need.

Maybe it’s a good idea for DEV to also start a weekly security recap of some sort with an overview of newly discovered vulnerabilities and other security issues and what they’ve done to mitigate them.

Hi @Jeroen,

Thanks and we’ll do our best to not only keep up to date with all the security aspects but also go ahead as much as possible. it’s always a “race” – who’ll come first, “hackers” or “defenders” (pun intended) but we’ll always race to be the first :)

Have a great day,
Adam

AMEN to this. I often feel the same way and would love to be reassured from time to time.

Hello there Fabio

This is already requested and discussed among our developers. Having a WAF as a service would be huge for us, but there are some technical restrictions at the moment. Rest ensure that your voice – along with other members requesting the same – is heard and not completely abandoned as it’s not something that we are not considering at all. Hopefully, we’ll be able to provide better news about it in the future! :)

Thank you,
Dimitris

It’s sady mostly because it’s a political decision to force all users to host with you. I prefer hosting on Apache than Nginx, and your platform’s interface doesn’t offer what I need. That’s why I keep Wordfence, their WAF is free for all. Just use defender for the Tweaks and other resources. It’s your decision, and it’s really sad the lack of attention to your paying customers (like me) asking for WAF FOR ALL.
